FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE MCRC Names Kerry Dannecker as Program DeveloperNeeds Assessment Currently UnderwayApril 2006 – Messiah Community Resource Corporation has appointed Kerry Dannecker, MSW, LSW, to the position of program developer. Kerry is originally from New Hampshire where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work with a minor in Gerontology. Her career has been focused on helping older adults maintain quality of life and dignity as they age as well as helping caregivers get the support they need. She has worked in the field of case management, adult day care, hospice, long term care, community education and Alzheimer’s research. To further her knowledge and helping capacity, in 2004 she received her Master’s Degree in Social Work and Gerontology from California State University. While studying in California, Kerry was the recipient of the Geriatric Social Work Education Consortium Grant which allowed her to conduct research for the Veteran’s Administration’s Geriatric Research Education and Clinical Center. Here she assisted in developing best practices and programs for supporting caregivers in the community. Since moving to New Jersey in 2004, Kerry has been a staff member at Family Service of Morris County assisting in program development for older adults and caregiver outreach. Kerry is looking forward to working with the Messiah community as well as the residents of Chester and Long Valley to continue her work as an advocate and resource for older adults and caregivers. |
